Due to high interest and the growing Web3 industry, we organized the TeamUp x Web3 meetup in collaboration with Polygon Balkan Hub. Experts, startup founders, and Web3 enthusiasts of the internet of the future gathered on Thursday, October 27, at the TeamUp x Web3 meetup. The event attracted over 200 participants, 5 panelists, and 6 early-stage startups. Croatian startups proved they are on par with global ones by presenting open positions in their teams.
Participants demonstrated that Croatian startups are not lagging behind global ones, and during the panel, companies whose future revolves around a decentralized internet shared their insights. But we didn’t just talk about this pressing topic; the TeamUp x Web3 meetup brought Web3 technologies closer to everyone and offered an opportunity for interested individuals to get involved.
TeamUp is a unique event designed to connect early-stage startups with their first co-founders, collaborators, and employees. It also offers an opportunity for anyone interested in startup entrepreneurship to give it a try.
TeamUp x Web3 Panel
The TeamUp x Web3 meetup focused on the Web3 industry, emphasizing the development of new solutions and new Web3 startups. The meetup gathered some of the most successful startups from the blockchain world, as well as blockchain experts and organizations. Panelists included Vedran Vukman, Tin Šarić, Magda Milas, and Ivan Munić.
The panel was moderated by Iva Kvakić, co-founder of the nonprofit organization Alice in Blockchain. As Magda Milas, co-founder of the association, mentioned, the fact that Alice in Blockchain currently has 125 members speaks to how well Croatians are familiar with Web3 concepts.
Magda recalled her early days in the crypto world, when, as she puts it, she struggled to explain services that no one understood back then. Today, she says it’s easier to find partners who understand Web3 and with whom she can expand her ideas. As she develops the fintech field at one of the largest Croatian telecoms, A1, she highlights the importance of bringing this complex technology closer to a wider user base. She believes that simple QR-coded cards are an excellent way to introduce users to opening their first wallets and adopting cryptocurrencies.
Mass Adoption of Blockchain
“The path to mass adoption of blockchain is in simplicity and user adaptation, and a major breakthrough in adoption is NFTs, simply because the concept is simplified,” says Vedran Vukman, CEO and founder of Revuto. Regarding challenges in the Web3 world, Vedran points out user ignorance, which often leads to mass buying of cryptocurrencies.
“We need to build things that are so simple that the user doesn’t have to think. At the same time, companies must be careful about who they give their tokens to and how,” says Tin Šarić, co-founder and COO of BitX.hr, co-founder of Polygon Balkan Hub, product development manager and blockchain product strategist, and creator of Croatia’s crypto brand and first Croatian music NFT record label. When asked by the audience about the ecological sustainability of blockchain, Tin highlights how Polygon Balkan Hub is one of the most eco-conscious companies in the industry.
Ivan Munić, technical director at “The Football Company,” pointed out a significant shift in environmental awareness in the Web3 world, noting that clients they work with care deeply about whether their company is “green.”
In closing, Vedran emphasized that now is the right time to invest, and to encourage attendees, he shared €50 vouchers with a few lucky participants from the audience.

Plurries is a community of ethical builders. Their mission is to develop Web3-based projects following their philosophy of peace, love, unity, and respect. Watch their presentation below.
MotherDao is the creator of the MotherPlants NFT. These NFTs are created at the DNA level, allowing for extraordinary and unique transformations using the MotherDAO 3D NFT Engine. Players will use these NFTs for investment, breeding, and growth in upcoming mini-games. Watch their presentation below.
All of these startups are united by a desire to innovate existing services or create new ones using blockchain technology.
