Introduction Description:

The Adriatic Plastic Challenge project was designed to support organizations dedicated to preventing pollution of the Adriatic Sea with plastic. A total of 42 applications were received, and seven selected teams had the opportunity to participate in a two-day boot camp. The teams’ task was to develop a business plan and prepare for a presentation using design thinking tools, including defining personas and empathy maps.

A crucial role in team selection was played by an expert jury consisting of five members from the scientific and creative communities. The jury evaluated the projects based on criteria such as their impact on addressing the given challenge, business sustainability, and presentation quality. In the end, three teams were chosen.

Result/Achievement:

The project selected three finalists who were awarded cash prizes. The winning project, “Zlarin Island Without Plastic,” proceeds to the next phase of development with the support of project partners.
